Guilt free, stress free, one stop shopping for all things doggo!
Our Completely Mutts Story
It all started with a dog. It always does, right? That one dog, your first dog. No one quite prepares you for your first dog. Worse still, no one quite prepares you for the way they find their way into your heart (or your bed for that matter!). My first true love was my first ever dog, Tilly, a sweet yet psychopath of a rescue. She taught me so much about not only dogs, but life itself. What she didn't mention was the spiral I'd find myself falling into when it came to dogs... As Tilly aged, we introduced Lucy into the family, a worrier of a Border Collie. Tilly grew a new lease of life around her new found sibling. So that makes 2 dogs. I then met my (now ex) partner and I fell head over heels with the cheeky chappy that was Spud, a Border Terrier. That then takes us to 3. 3 dogs, all very different, all safely tucked into my heart. I hit a crossroad in life in 2012 and that's when I decided to go back to college to train to be a dog groomer, and so Completely Mutts was born, offering dog grooming and walking with a limited range of Miro And Makauri products that we loved and used ourselves.

In 2014 we lost Tilly at a very respectable old age. The grief hit differently to any other grief I have ever felt. I felt like part of me had gone with her. Worse still, she left a huge hole in the family. Strolling in comes Thor, my dad's Husky cross, a majestic beast with a penchants for chocolate Labradors! If he was any more laid back he'd fall over! So we're back up to 3. The only thing is, I now need a 'proper' job as I want a mortgage, so in 2019 I wound up Completely Mutts and went into the world of corporate.

No one told me how much I'd hate corporate but I had a lovely house so I persevered. Ludo then arrives in 2021, my brother's Border Collie/Lab/Poodle mix, aka a fluffy ball of fun! So now we're at 4 and by this stage, Christmas is so chaotic, Lucy and Spud are getting on a bit, so what difference would one more make?! Our sweet little(!) Bella was adopted in 2022, the purest, most wholesome Labrador... mix (place your bets on what she's mixed with!) you could ever meet. By the end of 2022 I had split very amicably with my partner and had met my new partner. By July 2023, my new partner and I bought Daphne, aka Nuggie, an accidental litter from my friend's doggos. At 4.5kg, this feisty little Jack Russell/ Chihuahua cross is the boss of all 6, yes 6, doggos. By the end of 2023 I had the most horrific breakdown and found myself out of a job.
As I started job hunting in 2024, I realised corporate was just not for me but what on earth do I do now? As I sat staring out the window from across the desk of my employment advisor, Vanessa, she pipes up "Would you not consider going back to being self-employed doing your dog stuff again?". At that point I must have looked at her like she was insane! We're in a cost of living crisis, the world is crumbling and I have a mortgage to pay!! I can't go back to... wait... I left my account with Miro open... The cogs started whirring!
So here we are, half a year later. I knew there was a gap in the market for a one stop shop for all things doggo, be it for puppers themselves or doggo loving humans! I consciously curated a collection that brings some of the UK's best and brightest small businesses together, all under one roof, conveniently delivered straight to your door. No hours spent searching and only one parcel to wait for!
Sadly, in the process of setting up Completely Mutts as an online store, we lost our naughty, cheeky, loving, little Spud. As the dust settled, I realised that he'll forever live on, not just in our own memories, but in the face you see in our logo, designed by the very talented Jamie Gaunt, all those years back.
A month later, we lost our elegant girl Lucy. The day we lost Lucy, we picked up our new addition, a scruffy woofer, just like Spud. Lottie the Border Terrier joined us and brought the head count back up to 5. So there we are, 4 under 3 and a handsome Thor! We then decided to add Pippin, a bouncy bundle of Labrador to the pack. 5 under 3 and now back to 6... We must be completely mutts!

This whole operation is a collaboration between myself, my incredibly supportive partner, my family, my pooch owning friends, the wonderful Vanessa, the incredible businesses I have chosen to work with and the amazing dogs that have brought me so much love and happiness over the years, not just my own but my families, friends and client's dogs.
